Fertilizers and Nutrition

🌾 Nutrient Management
Nitrogen

Apply 37.5 kg nitrogen per bigha . Apply it in three equal portions:

1/3 At sowing
1/3 First irrigation / thinning
1/3 At square formation

At sowing, 27.5 kg urea should be applied.

Four-Split Nitrogen Application

When nitrogen is applied in four equal portions, it should be applied at the following stages:

1/4 Sowing
1/4 Square formation
1/4 Flowering
1/4 Boll formation

With this method, only 75% of the total nitrogen i.e. 112.5 kg/ha is sufficient. In addition, apply two foliar sprays of 2.0% potassium nitrate at peak flowering and boll formation.

Phosphorus

Apply 10 kg phosphorus equivalent to 62.5 kg SSP at the time of sowing.

Micronutrients

Apply a 0.5% solution of a mixture containing six micronutrients, or spray 0.1% boron during flowering and boll development stages.

5% Zinc Sulphate
2% Manganese Sulphate
2% Ferrous Sulphate
0.5% Boron
0.05% Molybdenum
0.5% Copper
